How does one show today different time of the Holocaust and the events of September 11th, the places of deportation, the Rivesaltes camp, place of torture at Tuol Sen?
How to historicize the pain of conflict?
Can we make a theory of mass violence, theorize its existence?

Montrer les Violences Extrêmes brings together contributions of historians, anthropologists, artists, architects and museum around the question of representations of extreme violence. It is illustrated with many photographic documents.

In this book, Adeline Rispal revisits the exhibition design of four of her projects:
- The Museum of the Great War in Péronne (France),
- The Modern Department of the Musée de l'Armée in the Hôtel National des Invalides in Paris,
- The final competition for the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York.
